This is an experimental project started in 2009 and supported by Department of Science
& Technology (DST) India. The water data that is displayed on the site in form
of various reports is collected by the villagers and updated on the site.
All these data collected in surveys use a standard way, which is demonstrated using
a training manual for the field center people involved with this project. This training
manual is available on the site
Water Testing Turorial.
We are in the process to take this initiative further down the line and take the
approval of the government for spreadng it across India. Digital Empowerment Foundation
is a partner of Govt. of India in this Project and the main objective of DEF is
to create awareness about drinking water and sanitation among the rural population.
All these data available on the site is coming from our live data repository which
is updated regularly by the villafers working for their repective field centers.
The data available on the site is exactly what has been collected from the village
and the site is in experimental stage as of now.. These data is available for analysis,
feedback and recommendations.
Digital Empowerment Foundation is not responsible for any flaw in data or clerical
mistakes, that may surface. But, at the same time any reporting of flaws/ comment/
recommendations are welcome. Visitors can send their concerns on
